Welcome to the orbitcast project, a real-time WebSocket server designed with the ActionCable protocol for Mothership. It allows you to send and receive messages quickly and efficiently. In just a few simple steps, you’ll be able to set up your server and start communicating instantly.
Before you begin, ensure your system meets the following requirements:
First, visit the releases page to find the latest version of the orbitcast software:
This page lists all available versions. Locate the most recent one, typically marked as “Latest”.
Once on the releases page, look for the installation file suitable for your operating system. Click on the link to download the file. The file should have a clear name indicating its purpose, such as orbitcast_installer.exe for Windows or orbitcast_macos.dmg for macOS.
After downloading, locate the file in your Downloads folder or the directory you chose.

Once the installation is complete, you can start the application.

To connect your client application to the orbitcast server:
ws://localhost:3000/cable.To send messages through the server, use your preferred client library that supports ActionCable. Common libraries for JavaScript and Ruby exist for this purpose.
Your client should subscribe to the desired channel to receive messages. Check your library’s documentation for detailed instructions.
Keep an eye on the server’s performance metrics through the built-in logging feature. This helps you identify any issues or bottlenecks in your communication flow.
